“My conclusion on social media”

“To conclude my experience, I would like to clarify a few things. Social media can ha ve both negative and positive sides. It is not only entertainment, but also a space for knowledge, information, and helpful content. However, there is also the risk of not really knowing who is behind the person you meet. It can consume a lot of your time, and you may find yourself trying to fit in with others instead of feeling free to do what you truly enjoy. You can become obsessed with a simple like or with following trends that may seem… pointless (unless you genuinely like them, of course—everyone has their own taste). Another thing I’ve noticed a lot is the comments from people who criticize others just for trying something new, or who insult them for being different. I don’t understand why people do that or why they don’t just let others live their own way.”

Was I actually fine without social media?”

“My answer is… yes, definitely. But now I need to work and get used to them. If I’m going to showcase my work to get hired or something like that, then using social media becomes necessary. But if it weren’t for that, I would honestly leave them behind in 2025. They really did affect me, even though I only used Instagram, Tumblr, and I used to have YouTube (my account is now deleted). As I mentioned in my first experience with social media, I started in 2023, but I always doubted whether this was a good idea. Now I regret it. Some things, topics, and trends make me uncomfortable, and it feels like you can’t be different anymore. In the end… it’s hard to adapt, to fit in, or to pursue your goals when they’re barely supported.”

“What does this have to do with art and my drawings?”

“My answer is: I actually felt good. I used to draw just for myself and my family. I improved my work without pressure, without worrying about losing followers, because they simply followed you out of interest in your art, and I mean, isn’t that the point? We’re sharing art, right? But what I mean is the lack of empathy… I don’t know. I used to make fan art of my favorite artist, and honestly, I couldn’t tell if they liked it or not, but that’s okay. Wanting to reach the level of professional artists without appreciating your own effort is another issue. Overall, I think I was better off and enjoyed doing it for myself.”

“I appreciate you taking a bit of your time to read my small opinion. Everyone has a different perspective, and that’s okay, you can agree or disagree.”
